Spooky Story Contest: 4/5 Winner

Congratulations to our winners! All levels, Kindergarten through 8th grade, were given the same challenge to write a Spooky Story! The following is from our 4/5 class:

Beware!

By Addy Lyon

One dark night a young girl named Emily and her sister Carleen went on a walk. First they asked their parents they said yes, but be back by 5:45. It was 4:30 when we asked. So, they went on a walk to an old gas station to get snacks. When they came out they were tired so they sat down on the ground in a dark and spookey alley close to home. In a heart beat the doors slammed together on the long narrow sides of the alley. It became 4:56 then 5:59. Moments later an old man walks out with a scary grin on his face. He said, “You are in great danger. It is after you.”

Emily says, “What is?”

The old man said, “The evil, dangerous, mean, scary and unhappy thing.”

Carleen said, “How can we get home?”

He says, “I will let you go if you never come back.”

Emily and Carleen ran so fast they barely could breathe. They got home and never went back. By then it was 6:30 and their parents were very very scared and frightened. The girls got their Halloween outfits on and ran out the door. They went door to door getting candy. At 7:00, they saw the old man at the corner and he said, “Well done. Most people would have come back and died right here…” The girls went home and ate their candy and never saw the old man again.
