Arts Enter Event- Friday July 17th at 2 and 7

Come one, come all!

Our partner in the arts, the Arts Enter Cape Charles, has put together an adorable production for children by children of the Pied Piper! These kids have been working hard for two weeks on set design, costumes, and of course the performance.

Arts Enter has offered to assist with a similar production by our first year students later in the Fall!

Let's support their efforts... performances are at 2 pm and 7 pm on Friday.
Admission is only $5 for adults and $3 for children at the Historic Palace Theater on Mason Ave.

Ready for School! the Countdown Continues

Hi All--

As you can imagine, we're very busy getting ready for the first school year to begin in roughly SEVEN short weeks. We have HAPPY NEWS to announce!

As of today, we will begin the 2009/2010 school year with 45 students! Ranging from Kindergarten through 8th grades, they will make up the first student body of Cape Charles Christian School.

We have a stunning lineup of teaching staff to support the individualized, loving, attentive, and challenging learning and growth that will happen in the next year, under the Lord's watchful eye:

K-5 Lower School
Gwyn Coghill, Principal
Carrie Cabello, K-1 Cluster
Leslie Savage, 2-3 Cluster
Kate Tayloe, 4-5 Cluster

6-8 Middle School
Andrea Price, Principal
Holly Hubbard, English and Social Studies
Andrea Davis, Math and Science

Valerie Travis, Assistant to the Adminstration
Victor Abrahamian, Teacher's Aide and Athletic Director
Jenn Philpot, Chapel Coordinator

We are truly blessed with this group of enthusiastic educators! You may have noticed some additions and changes? YES!

First, Valerie Travis, having retired this Spring from Kiptopeke Elementary as a Pre-K teacher (and with 34 years of teaching under her belt and a following that rivals the Pied Piper) has offered to volunteer along with Gwyn Coghill and Andrea Price in guiding and supporting our new school as an Assistant to the Administration.

Next, although we initially planned for Andrea Price to cover both principal and teacher roles in the Middle School, she has decided to focus her attention on the administration and has offered her services as a volunteer employee!

And last, rounding out the teaching staff, Andrea Davis has joined us to teach Middle School Math and Science. She's a graduate of SanDiego State Univeristy, with an MA in Education and is National Board Certified in Early Adolescent Science. She's taught in California and Pennsylvania, but moved to the shore to be closer to family. She says, "I look forward to working with my students and helping them to gain understanding and connection to the worlds of Math and Science."

But WAIT, there's MORE...

Trinity United Methodist Church in Cape Charles has offered roughly 2600 sqft of classroom space! We will be able to house everyone under ONE roof for regular classes, expanding to additional space in Cape Charles Baptist as well as other locations around town, such as Arts Enter, for special classes.

It's shaping up to be a fantastic year. We are still accepting students. If you're interested, please contact us.
